Tanuj Tiku is one of India’s most distinguished composers for film, with a body of work spanning many feature films, hundreds of commercials, and a parallel international career in production music that has reached audiences across the globe. His work sits at the intersection of cinematic ambition and orchestral craftsmanship. For Laal Singh Chaddha (2022) - Aamir Khan’s adaptation of Forrest Gump - Tanuj delivered an original score that drew on live orchestral recording and deep thematic development to complement one of Hindi cinema’s most emotionally layered narratives. He followed this with the original score for YRF’s Tiger 3 (2023), and most recently scored two major productions in quick succession: Dhadak 2 (2025), Dharma Productions’ acclaimed romantic drama tackling caste and identity, and Ikkis (2026), Sriram Raghavan’s deeply affecting biographical war drama about India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee. Built on restraint and emotional precision, the film placed particular demands on the score.
Tanuj regularly collaborates with some of the finest session orchestras in the world, including the Budapest Film Orchestra and the Vienna Synchron Orchestra, bringing an international standard of orchestral production to Indian cinema. His production music has been featured in international campaigns for films including Steven Spielberg’s The BFG, Blade Runner 2049, and Passengers, as well as BBC One’s Wallander, the Tom Clancy video game franchise, and Disney Nature’s Elephant and Dolphin Reef. His compositions are regularly heard on major television productions including Saturday Night Live, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and Big Brother Australia. In 2016, he won the 64th National Film Award for Best Music - for his score for the short film Leeches. The same year, he received the Best Production Music UK award for his track Cascade of Emotions.
